Daiwa Black Gold BG-13 Spinning Reel: $30
This reel is in good condition appearance-wise, and is silky smooth and ready to rock mechanically. Daiwa Black Golds are a classic design, even better than the well known Penn Spinfisher series with which they competed. This reel is adequate for anything from largemouth bass to red drum, and its tough construction means its great for ocean/beach/pier use. Want to buy it? Click here |

Vintage Daiwa UL-7 Ultralight Reel: $15
This is a classic Daiwa ultralight reel, with great build quality. Lots of metal in its construction so it is tough, yet silky smooth. Some paint loss here and there is the only real issue, again function is very, very smooth. These reels have developed somewhat of a following due to their good construction and reliability, which is better than most ultralights built before or since. Want to buy it? Click here |

Vintage Penn Spinfisher 712 Greenie: $20
This is a classic reel, nice looking and works great. Some cosmetic blemishes, but nothing major: Paint loss around reel foot, and a couple other little spots are the only problems. Function is smooth as silk, due to reel's solid construction and its worm gear drive. Most modern spinning reels use a different configuration that is lighter, but not as strong or solid feeling. This would be a great reel for catfish, light surf, pier use, even ocean use for fish up to king mackerel and cobia-size from a boat or kayak. Want to buy it? Click here |

Vintage Daiwa Mini-Millionaire MM1000 Ultralight Casting Reel: $20
This is a very unique and somewhat collectible old reel. In the '80s, Daiwa really pushed hard in the ultralight market, making some really nice little reels in the process. One of their ideas was to make a true ultralight baitcaster, and this is it! The Mini-Millionaire does pretty well casting light baits, but honestly this one is better on a shelf than chasing fish. The pinion gear is badly worn, and the anti-reverse is a little sketchy. I adjusted the anti-reverse and got it to mostly work, but there's no hope for the pinion. Due to this, the reel grinds when under load, such as when reeling in a fish, or even larger spinnerbaits or crankbaits. Still need to use once in awhile; I mounted this one on a fly rod and it would toss a little jig a long, long way! Want to buy it? Click here |
