Daiwa Sealine 50H on Ugly Stik Custom 1180XH 8' 30-50lb rod: $80.00 This is a tough-as-nails all-aluminum reel (including sideplates and one-piece frame) on a tough-as-nails Ugly Stik Custom one-piece rod. Reel is great mechanically, smooth and works nicely. Reel has a very simple custom magnetic casting brake installed. I threaded the sideplate, inserted a bolt, and attached a neodymium magnet to the end of the bolt. This made the reel cast much more reasonably, and it's even adjustable in theory, though in my experience its best to just leave it right where it is -- on maximum magnet power. Want to buy it? Quantum 1310 reel with FLW Titan IM8 6.5ft. Medium-Heavy Action Rod: $30.00
This is a great, lightweight, nice looking graphite rod. Good all around soft-plastic/jig rod for largemouth. Rod is in excellent condition too, both in looks and function. On it is a classic reel that, sadly, has seen better days. It works, but there is a little gear grind due to a worn pinion gear that is not worth replacing. If you're into '80s bass tackle. this reel has a place somewhere for you. Otherwise, please just take it off my hands when you buy the rod. Want to buy it? Click here |

Penn Squidder on Vintage, Custom 11 ft. Heaver Surf Rod: $110.00
This is a classic combo that would be equally at home on display on a wall, and on the beach waiting for a big drum to crush a big bait. Penn Squidder in good working condition, mounted on a white-blank 11 foot heaver rod. Rod is very nicely built, with "Custom Made by Carl F. Overman" written above the handle wraps (see pics). Carl Overman built custom rods in the Outer Banks for quite awhile, and this one is built to toss heavy weights and baits for big fish in rough waters. Rod is in great overall condition, and judging by its build and what I have seen/heard about similar rods, it will lob a 10 oz. weight and bait no problem. Want to buy it? Click here |

Daiwa Tierra 153H on Berkley Series One 6.5' MH casting rod: $100.00 Rod is in great, very lightly used condition. This rod is a classic from the late '90s - early '00s, and there is still a cult following for these rods on eBay. It is very light and sensitive, with good backbone to handle big bass. If you could only have one bass fishing rod, this one would be a good choice! Reel is good overall condition. Some blemishes on the surface from use, but function is great. Magnetic brake makes for easy casting, and this reel will handle any bass you will ever come across. Want to buy it? Click here |

Daiwa Sealine LD30H on custom Lamiglas 7.6' rod: $90.00
Reel is a Daiwa Sealine LD30H. Cosmetically it has some imperfections, worst being the drag pre-adjustment knob is cracked. Other than that it's just scratches and light fading you would expect in an older, well-used reel. Rod is a custom Lamiglas on a 7.6' blank. I would say the rod has a heavy action, as it is pretty stiff. It has really nice roller guides, though the first guide (gathering guide) has a very small chip, from riding in an aluminum jon boat on a very choppy day -- see pic. Rest of rod is in great condition. Background on this rod: Guy I bought it from said he did some work on the Lamiglas factory on the west coast in exchange for this custom rod. That's all I've got! Google searches yield similar blanks, but nothing with this roller guide setup and sticker. This is a good heavy catfish rod, and would be good for trolling for spanish and up. Very light for its strength. Want to buy it? Click here |

Mitchell 408 on St. Croix Triumph 5' UL Ultralight Rod: $80 This is a SUPER NICE combo! The Mitchell 408 is an all-time classic, one of the greatest ultralight reels of all time. Made in France, and with a high speed 5:1 gear ratio, these reels are timeless in form and function. This reel is in good overall shape, looks very nice, and functions well. I hate to sell it, but I have not used it in awhile and its a shame to see it just sit on the shelf. The reel is not as smooth as new reels, nor as quiet, but as it is now it has been and shall be forever. The rod is a St. Croix Triumph ultralight, purchased new around 2009. An outstanding rod for any ultralight application, it makes bluegills a blast and can handle bigger fish. I once landed a 9 pound blue catfish on this rod (different reel, I'll admit, before I knew about the Mitchells) and it took it like a champ. One of my favorite uses of this combo is to toss a worm under a float in a little pond, and hearing the reel's click-click-click on retrieve when a bluegill or redear is pulling on the other end. It's a lot of fun tossing light jigs too! Want to buy it? Click here |

Daiwa Spinmatic-Z 500 T on St. Croix Triumph 5' UL Ultralight Rod: $60
This is a great ultralight combo, perfect for serving up jigs or live bait beneath a float to bluegill and other panfish. The reel is a Daiwa Spinmatic-Z 500 T, which was a top-of-the-line ultralight reel in the late '90s - early '00s. I am this reel's original owner and it's been well cared for, so it is still silky smooth. It has seen a lot of use, so there are some scratches and light paint loss, but nothing major. The rod is a St. Croix Triumph ultralight, purchased new around 2009. An outstanding rod for any ultralight application, it makes bluegills a blast and can handle bigger fish. I once landed a 9 pound blue catfish on this rod and reel, and it handled it beautifully. Want to buy it? Click here |

Mitchell 306 Reel on Berkley Big Game 8ft. Rod
Mitchell 306 is a classic light-medium surf reel, and would be good for catfish too. All functions are good, reel looks good and is smooth. Rod is a pretty basic 8 foot two-piece deal. Guides look good, reel seat looks a bit tired but holds reel fine. Want to buy it? Click here |

Daiwa Black Gold BG-15 on Renegade 6.5' 2-piece spinning rod: $40.00
Reel is super smooth and ready to fish, though a little faded and scratched. Rod is in good overall condition except that the butt is blemished as seen in pictures. Does not affect function, and could be capped if one were motivated to make this rod look nicer. Good all around combo that could handle anything from panfish to puppy drum! Want to buy it? All Star "Carolina Riggin'" 7' MH rod with Daiwa Capricorn 100: $80.00
Classic All Star rod in great overall condition. Same idea as the "All Star Classic" rods that sold forever, this rod was made in the USA and the quality shows. Price is mostly for the rod, but the reel is alright too! Reel is pretty smooth, casts nicely, and has aftermarket handle pads since original handles got worked over some by a puppy! Reel tends to every once in awhile not want to click into gear when handle turns, in which case you have to lift the button with your thumb. I have tried to fix this issue with no luck, but reel is fishable regardless. Want to buy it? Click here |
